Find your personality type in 12 minutes
Rate 75 statements on how well they describe you. You get a four-letter type, how strongly you lean on each scale, and a full profile. Answer honestly: the test checks whether answers are consistent and read carefully.
Is my data stored?
Answers are scored on the Constant Refinement server and stored anonymously under a random ID so your results link works. No name, email or account is collected. Progress is saved on your device so you can pick up where you left off.
How the test works
The test is built on Carl Jung's theory of psychological type and the four-scale model that grew out of it. Sixty-four statements measure the four scales, half worded toward each side so that agreeing with everything does not push a result. Your answers on a seven-point agree–disagree scale add up to a score for each scale, which sets the letter and the percentage in your results. Statements appear in a different order for every test taker.
Answer-quality checks
Eleven more statements, plus the timing and pattern of your answers, check whether the result can be trusted. The test looks at reading pace, attention, consistency between statements that mean opposite things, long runs of identical answers, agreement with everything, and claims of perfection. If the answers fail, no type is reported. Scoring happens on the server, so a result cannot be edited in the browser, and every results link points to a result the server actually scored.
What the percentages mean
A score near 50% means you use both sides of that scale about equally. A score of 80% or more means a clear, consistent preference. The percentage shows how consistently you answered, not how skilled you are.
Is this a clinical assessment?
No. Constant Refinement is a self-reflection tool. It is not a diagnostic, hiring or clinical instrument. Results describe preferences, and people of every type succeed in every field.
